James Da Barber is a full-time barber from Meridian, MS. When coming up, he wasted a name that was different from what was already exposed. He kept what he does for a living (being a barber) and merged it with his name. His genre is Hip-Hop, and rap and he has a southern-bouncy type style. Music is everything to James Da Barber. Music always gives him the balance that he needs. As an independent artist, James Da Barber hopes to impact many through his music and his lyrics. Get to know James Da Barber down below! Q: Who/what inspires your sound/music? I’ve always liked that Louisiana, MS, Atlanta type sound, it gives you that bounce. A: What are your goals when it comes to your music career? I plan on inspiring people to do better with their life, and breaking poverty from the mind of many through my music, that’s my Grammy. Q: What impact are you looking to make with your music? Who do you want to impact? A: I plan on being #1 on billboard, and I want to impact the youth and young adults, because that’s where it starts Q: Any life changing stories/incidents that impacted your music career, your decision to do music? A: I had an uncle I was really close to, and the words he told me right before he died was “If you see what you want, GO GET IT” and that’s the code that I live by. In so many words he told me “I wasted my whole life procrastinating on things I should have done, but now it’s too late. So I don’t wait for time, time waits for me. Q: Have you performed and/or participated in any talent shows and/or television shows? A: I participated at the Art International Talent Show Burbank, CA (Dec. 2019) I made it to the final round. I performed at a big youth explosion in Meridian, MS (June 2019) 25. Has any of your music and/or content gone viral? If so, please explain and include links. Q: How many albums/EPs have you released to date? A: I have released 1 EP (Trust the Process) Nov. 2019, and currently just released a new single (My Wave) feat. coi1000 May 2020 27. What are you currently working on? I am currently working on an EP (The Time is Now) which is releasing on Thanksgiving. Q: Do you have a new project that is out now or coming out soon that you are currently promoting? A: EP (The Time is Now) is releasing on Thanksgiving and the single that is dropping on Sep. 25 is named LIT Q: Where can we hear/check out your music? A: Apple, Spotify, Soundcloud, etc. Apple Music, Spotify, Soundcloud, Tidal, and other major platforms. Q; Have you collaborated or are you currently collaborating with any special artists, music producers, writers, etc.? A: I am currently collaborating with Female Rapper 3Dnatee and working with platinum producer Twysted Genius who have also worked with artists like Lil Baby, City Girls, Future, and many more.
