Kendrick Lamar signs new publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group

Yesterday, October 27th, rap superstar Kendrick Lamar inked a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group. The 13-time Grammy award winner has been shopping around for a new deal since his deal with Warner/Chappel Music began to expire in 2018. It’s unclear how much the TDE rapper signed to UMPG for, but the amount is estimated to be between $20-$40 million, according to Billboard.

This rate may seem high, but Lamar has put out three genre-defining albums as well as being heavily involved in the Black Panther movie soundtrack — which was certified RIAA Platinum back in 2018.

We’ll be on the lookout for new music from Kendrick Lamar soon!

Stay tuned for new music from Kung Fu Kenny!
