MiddMann and Marcel White drop off new project ‘MIDDLE EAST’

‘MIDDLE EAST’ is a new collaboration project from West Los Angeles artist MiddMann and Dallas, Texas producer Marcel White. MiddMann spoke to RemixdMagazine about the inspiration behind the 5-track collaboration project as well as his inspiration to pursue a career in music.

MiddMann, or Midd for short, stated his journey in music in 2013 when he graduated high school. He knew it was what he wanted to do.

When asked how does he describe his sound, Midd says that it’s “very unorthodox.”

It’s just not normal for what your usual west coast artist would sound like,” he explained. “I’d say my different personalities are heard throughout my music.”

With standout tracks on the project such as “CARTIER FLOWS” and “CAN’T FOLD,” the rapper makes his sound to the world known. He elaborates that the inspiration behind the project came from making the decision to leave and move to New York and wanting a fresh start.

Other songs on the project include, “LOST IN NEW YORK,” — a certified banger that anyone can listen to and automatically vibe to.

On the project, both Midd and Marcel showcase their talents in a way that positions them as creatives that are here to stay.

What city are you from/ Where are you based now?

I’m from West Los Angeles & Marcel White is from Dallas Texas, born & raised living in Crooklyn New York right now.

What is your artist/producer name? What is your real name? How did you get your artist/producer name?

My homies gave me the name Midd because I used to bring weed around that really wasn’t gas. It was Midd so that’s how I got my name; but my real name is Keiyantae Cambell.

At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music?

In 2013 as soon as I graduated high school, I knew that this was exactly what I wanted to do & there really wasn’t any doubt in my mind about pursuing a career in music.

Has your upbringing played a role in shaping who you are and defining your sound today? If so, how?

Hell yeah … If I never had the experiences that I had, and if I didn’t see my homies go through the things they went through, myself included, I wouldn’t be able to paint the picture that I want to portray to the world.. I’m not just telling my story, I’m telling theirs too.

How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you?

Very unorthodox, it’s just not normal for what your usual west coast artist would sound like. I’d say my different personalities are heard throughout my music.

What ultimately inspired you to dedicate yourself to a music career?

In 2019 when I met Marcel White aka Blanco at the Narco house he was the very first person to actually believe in me and what I have to offer as far as the music industry goes. From that moment we locked in, and it was up from there.

What’s one reason you are passionate about music and what inspires you?

There’s a million but just the fact that I have the ability to step into another world outside of what’s going on in reality has given me the escape that I needed at times. It’s not something I ever want to let go of.
